sakar keychain digital camera--working
So I finally got around to testing this toy camera. As you can see, it's not much bigger than an eraser.
It is labelled as a 66379 KeyChain Digital Camera from Digital Concepts, but actually it's made by Sakar. Apparently, it was at one time sold by WAL-MART, so there are all these amusing forums where trailer trash bemoan the $10 they spent on the cursed thing and they can't figure it out and they're never going to buy from Digital Concepts again, etc. Sigh.
Here is how I get the pictures off the camera in Linux (I'm using Fedora 7)
gphoto2 --camera='Argus DC-1510' --get-all-filesApparently if you install the proper drivers via video4linux, you can also use it as a webcam (as discussed at http://aggregate.org/DIT/peepfish/ which has some other insightful info on messing with this camera under Linux), but I didn't bother with this.
I notice that Flickr is indexed by google. I wonder if it works well for me to write up technical hints here for others to stumble across?
